AHC Welcomes JC Calder as New Chief Operations Officer

Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC) has named JC Calder as Chief Operations Officer to lead key operational functions across the organization. JC will oversee asset management, real estate development, and construction management across AHC’s portfolio.

JC brings over 24 years of experience in real estate development, construction, and operations to AHC. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Development and Construction at Mayroad in Annapolis, Maryland, overseeing all phases of development and construction for projects spanning from Alaska to Florida.

JC has demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing complex, large-scale affordable housing projects throughout his career. At Mayroad, he led efforts to secure approval and financing for $479 million in renovations covering approximately 2,200 homes, community centers, and other facilities.

JC’s experience spans the full spectrum of real estate development and operations, from site selection and due diligence through construction management and long-term asset performance. He has successfully managed teams across multiple states and has a proven track record of improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and increasing occupancy rates.

Prior to Mayroad, he held senior positions at Fairstead and Hunt Companies and spent more than a decade with Corvias. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications/business from the University of South Florida and is a Certified Defense Privatization Manager.
