Patrice is highly involved at The Westerly and said she wants to live there for a long time. Her dedication speaks to AHC’s core belief: that residents are valuable, committed partners in building the places they live.

“Patrice’s lived experience and deep commitment to her community make her an outstanding addition to our Board of Directors,” Paul Bernard, AHC President & CEO, said. “Her perspective will strengthen how we listen to and learn from the residents we serve.”

Patrice shared that she experienced homelessness and challenges with substance misuse. She is now in active recovery and applies her experiences to support and advocate for others navigating similar paths.

During her time in a group home for women, she served as house president and later regional chair, facilitating budget meetings, establishing community guidelines, and sharing resident concerns.

Patrice also recently graduated from Purdue Global University with a 3.96 GPA. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in Addictions, allowing her to pursue a career in helping others through similar situations she’s faced.

Bringing her resident perspective to the table, AHC is proud to welcome Patrice to its Board of Directors.
