On Sept. 14, Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC) celebrated the grand opening of The Wellness Corner, a new Health & Wellness Suite at Charter House in Silver Spring, Maryland.
The Wellness Corner is designed to support residents’ health, well-being, and ability to age safely and comfortably at home. Residents at Charter House will have access to wellness workshops, health screenings and assessments, and fitness classes in the new space, just steps from their apartments.

The Wellness Corner was made possible through grant support from Enterprise Community Partners’ Thome Aging Well program, funded by the Edward N. and Della L. Thome Memorial Foundation, a Bank of America trustee.
Residents marked the opening with light refreshments, door prizes, and the opportunity to connect with AHC staff and their neighbors.
Beyond health programming, the space gives residents a place to meet up with neighbors, build relationships, and learn together.
