Amazon has partnered with Affordable Homes & Communities for [X years], first as a donor and volunteer partner and now as an investor in one of AHC’s most ambitious developments. Through the Amazon Housing Equity Fund, the company helped finance the redevelopment at 10 South Glebe Road in Arlington, where AHC and Goodwill of Greater Washington will create 128 affordable homes, an onsite childcare center, and a modernized Goodwill store and donation center on a transit-accessible site. [It is the first project in the country to pair a Goodwill retail location with affordable housing.]

Amazon’s support reaches beyond the Housing Equity Fund. Employees have volunteered alongside AHC staff and residents, hosting Girls’ Tech Day at the company’s Arlington headquarters and assembling snack bags for students in AHC’s Afterschool program. This year, College & Career Readiness (CCR) graduate Nehemiah Abraha received an Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship and will attend Carnegie Mellon University this fall.
