Harkins Builders has partnered with Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC) since 2006, building many of the communities AHC residents call home. Harkins has been the construction partner on communities including The Terraces at Arlington View on Columbia Pike and Allium Place in Silver Spring. It is now the general contractor for AHC’s redevelopment with Goodwill of Greater Washington at 10 S. Glebe Road in Arlington, the first project in the nation to pair a Goodwill store with affordable housing.
Harkins’ support goes well beyond construction. The company is a longtime donor to AHC’s Resident Services, and its team has talked with teens in the College & Career Readiness program, grilled at Summer Camp Field Day, made valentines for senior residents, and put together welcome baskets for new residents.
